Frequently Asked Questions

Q: CAN THE VERSIFLOAT ™ PLATFORM OR DOCK BE INSTALLED, OR WILL I HAVE TO DO IT MYSELF?

A: The Versifloat's compact and simple design is user friendly. A new owner should be able to assemble the unit within minutes. Technical support is available, and assembly instructions are provided with the unit and on this website.

Q: WHAT SPECIAL TOOLS ARE REQUIRED TO INSTALL VERSIFLOAT™?

A: A manual two-way double action inflation/deflation pump is supplied in the Versifloat™ kit. This is all you should need in terms of tools. An electric inflation/deflation pump is recommended for faster filling. The use of an air compressor is not recommended unless it is calibrated to a .35 bar/psi.

Q: WHAT ABOUT ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION (UV) EXPOSURE?

A: Both the flexible PVC utilized in the pontoon, and the rigid PVC used in the deckboards contain the latest in U.V. inhibitors. Sun is not a problem.

Q: WHAT ABOUT SECURING MY VERSIFLOAT™?

A: Versifloat™ includes in its packaging two (2) cinchable webbing tethers to keep your floating dock safe and secure in all conditions.

Q: ARE THE DECK SURFACES SLICK WHEN THEY ARE WET?

A: The Versifloat™ deck has a non-skid, rubberized, textured surface including a rubber-crumb mix. This provides safe footing, even when the deck surface is wet or soapy.

Q: WILL IT DAMAGE MY BOAT OR PERSONAL WATERCRAFT?

A: Versifloat™ has been designed to ensure not only protection of the unit itself, but also all that it comes into contact with. Effectively, it acts as a bumper or fender.

Q: WHAT IS THE FREEBOARD HEIGHT FOR VERSIFLOAT™?

A: Float sections are 16" - 18" high, depending on inflation. Unladen the float will draw 1 1/2" of water resulting in 14 1/2" - 16 1/2" of freeboard. A maximum suggested load of 1,200 lbs will draw approximately 6" of water.

Q: WHAT ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT?

A: Versifloat™ is just about the most environmentally friendly product that you can put on the water. Our deck sections do not rust, splinter, dissolve, or have any paint or chemicals that can harm the environment.
